Want to replace old hard drive with Sabrent Rocket NVMe? Then you may need the assistant of Sabrent cloning software. Keep reading and follow the guide to migrate your data. By the end of this guide, users will be equipped to harness Sabrent cloning software.
“I have a Samsung 850 EVO and I’m trying to clone everything to a Sabrent Rocket NVMe SSD. I downloaded the Samsung migration tool, but I can’t seem to pick any other drive except the Samsung one. How can I do this?”
Sabrent is a hardware manufacturer dedicated to providing the latest technology at an affordable price, and the representative product line is Sabrent Rocket, which comes in M.2 form factor and connects to the host system over PCI-Express 3.0 x4 NVMe interface.
In this post, I will introduce both the Sabrent migration tool provided by Acronis, and another disk cloning software with a wider range of applications as alternative
Just as Samsung Data Migration Software for Samsung SSDs, Sabrent also has its own migration solution - Acronis True Image for Sabrent software. You can download it from the official site.
After installation, the basic procedure of this Sabrent SSD clone software was like:
Select Clone Disk on the TOOLS page >> Choose Automatic mode >> Select the source disk and target disk separately >> Confirm the deletions of all the partitions on the target disk, and click Proceed to start the clone.

AOMEI Backupper Professional is an all-around data protection and migration tool for Windows 11/10/8/7/XP/Vista. It’s not just a Sabrent Rocket clone software but applies to all HDDs and SSDs without brand restrictions. Even if you stop using Sabrent SSDs one day, you can still use them on other products.
◈ It offers complete cloning options, allowing you to migrate specific partitions, the entire disk, or just the operating system. ◈ The cloning process copies only the used sectors, making it simple to clone a larger drive to a smaller drive, as long as the smaller drive can store all your data. ◈ This software supports cloning both MBR and GPT system disks. This is crucial since booting from a Sabrent NVMe SSD requires UEFI support, which works with the GPT partition style. With AOMEI Backupper, you can clone MBR to GPT without needing to convert. ◈ It also features SSD alignment to enhance the performance of your Sabrent SSD and extend its lifespan.

Precautions for Sabrent SSD cloning:
✍If you are new to NVMe SSD, please make sure your PC supports UEFI boot mode, and your motherboard has an M.2 PCIe slot that supports NVMe. ✍Install the Sabrent SSD to your PC properly. If you are cloning NVMe to NVMe and there's only one applicable slot, you may need an external enclosure to connect the target one. ✍The cloning process will overwrite the target disk. So if there’s any important data on it, please use the backup features of the software to protect it.
Steps to clone hard drive to Sabrent SSD:
1. Launch the Sabrent cloning software, select the Clone tab, and choose Disk Clone to migrate the entire disk.
If you only want to clone Windows 10 to NVMe SSD, please choose System Clone.
2. Specify the source hard drive, and then select the Sabrent SSD as the destination. Click Next to continue.
3. Tick the SSD Alignment option to accelerate the writing & reading speed of the target SSD, and click Start Clone.
Sector By Sector Clone: If your target disk is larger or equal-sized, you could tick this option to copy all the sectors, including blank and bad sectors. Edit Partitions: Adjust the partition size and drive letter of the target disk. With it, you can assign unallocated space on a larger target disk.
The most direct way to switch the boot drive is to shut down the computer and replace the old disk with the Sabrent NVMe SSD mechanically. But if your PC was booting in Legacy BIOS mode before, you need to press the specific key during startup to enter BIOS settings and change the boot mode into UEFI, because only on UEFI-based PC can Windows boot from GPT.
Another situation is that you have enough slots on the motherboard, and want to keep the old disk as a storage drive. Then you don't have to remove it, just boot to UEFI by pressing the manufacturer key, and set the cloned Sabrent SSD as the first boot option. Likewise, if your PC was previously booting in BIOS legacy mode, you need to manually switch it to UEFI mode to support the NVMe SSD.
After saving the changes, your PC shall be able to boot from the cloned drive successfully. If there are still problems, please refer to the cloned SSD that won’t boot.
Q1: Is Acronis True Image for Sabrent not working?
If Acronis True Image for Sabrent is not working, try uninstalling and reinstalling the software or directly try AOMEI Backupper for a better cloning experience.
Q2: Is it possible to clone a hard drive to a smaller SSD?
A2: Yes, you can do this, but you need to make sure that all the data on the original hard drive can fit on the SSD. It's a good idea to delete any unnecessary files before you start cloning.
Q3: Does Windows 10 come with disk cloning software?
A3: No, Windows 10 does not include a built-in tool for disk cloning. While it offers backup options like System Image Backup and File History, these are not the same as cloning. To clone a drive, you can use AOMEI Backupper.
Sabrent cloning software like Acronis True Image for Sabrent helps you migrate data from old hard drives to Sabrent products, but it’s not the easiest one and sometimes won’t work properly. As an alternative, you could turn to the powerful clone features of AOMEI Backupper.
It enables you to clone a disk or OS with several simple steps. After cloning, you can use the Disk Wipe tool to erase a hard drive or select partitions to free up disk space. If you want to use these features on multiple PCs without installing them, you can also create portable disk cloning software on a removable device.
