Just like Apple Music and iTunes, Spotify is also a nice music player. For some copyright reasons, you may need to switch from one music app to another to listen to different music. To make things simpler, this guide will elaborate you two ways to export iTunes playlist to Spotify.

 

Method 1. Export iTunes playlist to Spotify

With the update of the Spotify app, it doesn’t allow you to import iTunes playlist directly. But luckily, the app leaves you a new choice to import external files on computer. Please note that Spotify supports MP3, M4P, MP4 format only. It doesn’t support the iTunes M4A format. Please make sure the songs you’d like to import are compatible.

Download the latest version of Spotify and iTunes on your computer and follow the steps below to transfer iTunes playlist to Spotify.

Set iTunes settings Step 1. Launch iTunes on your computer > Click Edit > Choose Preferences.

Step 2. In the prompt screen, choose Advanced > Turn on Share iTunes Library XML with other applications > Click OK to save the change.

Set Spotify settings Now, you can import iTunes playlist to Spotify on computer by following the steps below.

Step 1. Run the Spotify app on your computer > Log in with your Spotify account.

Step 2. From the left pane, choose the three-dot icon > Edit > Click Preferences.

Step 3. Scroll down and enable Show Local Files > Toggle on iTunes under the Show songs from the section.

To check if iTunes playlists have been transferred to Spotify, you can go to YOUR LIBRARY section of Spotify.

Method 2. Export iTunes playlist and more to Spotify

Now, you can locate and add iTunes playlist from C:\Users\YourUserName\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media.

4. Make sure you have selected all wanted music files from iTunes playlist and computer > Click Start Transfer to export them to your iPhone.
