So how to sync SharePoint to OneDrive? Please continue to read below.
To sync SharePoint to OneDrive, you need both a Microsoft 365 account and the latest version of OneDrive. Below are two effective ways to help you out:
Both of them help you, but if you want an easier way for automatic sync, try the second one. Because the first method is really complicated and requires a certain professional knowledge. Of course, you can read them first and then select one of them.
The Sync feature is a new option in SharePoint to help you sync SharePoint to OneDrive easily without mapping SharePoint document libraries to drives first. And you can work in a familiar space.
Step 1. Go to the Microsoft 365 login page in a web browser and sign in to your account. Be sure you log in with OneDrive as well.
Step 2. Open the SharePoint library you want to sync with OneDrive.
Step 3. When you are inside the library or folder, click the Sync button above.
Step 4. At this time, you will receive two notifications: one is to ask for permission to open up OneDrive and the other is to tell you your files are in the process of being synced. Just close them and your files will be synced in the background.
Step 5. Wait until the sync process completes. Navigate to File Explore and Quick access, you will see the folder you just sync. And the folder is named as your school or business.
Except for the Sync feature in SharePoint, you still can use the best automatic sync software - AOMEI Backupper Standard to help you. It offers you a Schedule Sync feature to make the sync task automatic and you can sync files in the SharePoint folder daily, weekly, or monthly, not only files currently in it but also any changes made later.
Step 1. Be sure you log in with Microsoft 365 and OneDrive. Download and install AOMEI Backupper Standard on your computer.
Step 2. Open AOMEI Backupper, click Sync and Basic Sync in order.
Step 3. Click Add Folder and select SharePoint folder or library in File Explorer.
Step 4. Click Select a cloud drive at the lower location and choose OneDrive, click OK to add it.
Step 5. To sync SharePoint to OneDrive automatically, click Schedule Sync and then enable it. Select Daily, Weekly, or Monthly afterward. And you can also tick Wake the computer to run scheduled tasks. Then, click Start Sync to sync SharePoint document library with local folder automatically.
Notes:
If you want to sync SharePoint to OneDrive, you can use the sync feature in both SharePoint and AOMEI Backupper. But I prefer the second one. It offers a Schedule Sync feature, which makes the sync task run automatically and easily. And it does not require you to learn professional knowledge.
If you want to sync files in real-time, mirror files or perform two-way data synchronization, please upgrade to the Professional version of AOMEI Backupper. For users who are using Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022 (including the R2 version), try AOMEI Backupper Server.
