Prerequisites
Before starting the configuration of AHV instant recovery you need to meet the following requisites:
🔶 Nutanix AHV Environment: A configured Nutanix AHV cluster.
🔶 Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV:
- Installed and configured to manage backups of AHV VMs.
- Deployed as an appliance in your Nutanix environment.
🔶 Backup Repository: A Veeam backup repository with recent AHV VM backups.
Step 1. Open the Veeam Backup & Replication, navigate to the Backups section, and locate the desired AHV VM backup. Right-click the VM and select Instant Recovery > Nutanix AHV.
Step 2. Then you will go to the Restore Points tab, you need to select the necessary restore points, including Job, Type, and Location. After finishing, click OK.
Step 3. Then you will do some settings, in this section, you need to configure: Restore Mode, Cluster, Storage Container, Name, Network, and Reason. In the Summary section, you can review configured settings and check everything is OK, then click Finish.
Step 4. The VM will boot and run directly from the backup repository. Use the Migrate to Production to move the VM back to production storage. Also, if you want to remove the recovered VM, you can select Stop publishing.
