How to Shut Down PC on Backup Completion

AOMEI Post By AOMEI Updated November 29, 2022

Introduction:

To protect your PC and save power, you may need to shut down your PC once a backup is complete. In AOMEI Backupper, there are four ways available to configure PC shutdown on backup completion.

How to configure PC shutdown on backup completion

Method 1:

In AOMEI Backupper, you can configure a System shutdown event trigger so a backup task will be executed when the system shuts down.

Once the backup is complete, the system will proceed to shut down as normal.

Method 2:

In AOMEI Backupper, you can also configure to shut down your PC when a backup is running.

While a backup is running, you can click an icon in the lower-left corner to set to Shut down your PC after the backup completion.

Method 3:

For a scheduled backup task, you can also configure to shut down your PC once the scheduled backup is complete. (Available in Backupper V6.5.0 and later versions)

There is an option named “After the scheduled task is completed, the computer will”. You can just check the option and select "Shut down PC" from the drop-down menu to configure PC shutdown after the scheduled backup completion.

Method 4:

In AOMEI Backupper, you can also configure a post-command in the Options to run the shutdown.exe after backup completion. In this case, the PC will also be closed down after the backup is finished. For example, you can add the command shutdown.exe and configure -s -t 0 in Arguments. Please check the configuration in the following screenshot.
