How to Copy Log and Crash Files of AOMEI Backupper?
Introduction
With AOMEI Backupper, you can back up important data and computer operating system. In case of a system crash or data loss, you can easily recover data and the system without reinstalling the OS. And, you can also do system and disk clone to replace your smaller system drive with a larger and faster SSD/HDD. Besides, you can also run Outlook and email backup to secure your Outlook and email data.
However, there might be some error messages and program crashes when you use the program features. In these cases, you need to copy the log and crash files of AOMEI Backupper and forward them to our support team for further analysis of the program issues and then find solutions.
In this article, we will show you how to copy the log and crash files of AOMEI Backupper in Windows and WinPE.
How to Copy Log and Crash Files of AOMEI Backupper in Windows
By default, the log and crash files are under the installation directory of AOMEI Backupper. In this article, we will take the default installation directory of V7.3.5 as an example. The default installation directory of AOMEI Backupper is C:\Program Files (x86)\AOMEI\AOMEI Backupper\7.3.5.
If you do not install AOMEI Backupper to the default path, the installation directory might differ.
To locate the installation directory, you can simply right-click the shortcut of AOMEI Backupper and select "Open file location".
If a program crash occurs, you can find the Crash.dmp file under the installation directory C:\Program Files (x86)\AOMEI\AOMEI Backupper\7.3.5 and copy all log files under the "log" folder of the same path. Then, please send the Crash.dmp and log files to our support team.
If there is no crash occurs, please simply send the log files to our support team.
Tips: Please copy all log files under the "log" folder. To copy these files, please use a compress tool to first compress the whole "log" folder as a compressed file, for example, .zip, or .rar.
How to Copy Log and Crash Files of AOMEI Backupper in WinPE
Some operations will run in WinPE from a bootable media created by AOMEI Backupper. In this case, it is important to copy log and crash files under WinPE.
Tips: Please copy all log files under the "log" folder. To copy these files, please use a compress tool to first compress the whole "log" folder as a compressed file, for example, .zip, or .rar.
Method 1
1. Boot from AOMEI Backupper bootable media.
2. Click the Backup tab and choose one backup type, for example, File Backup. And click the destination button.
3. Please open Boot(X:) drive to find the log files. The log files should be under the path "Boot(X:)\Program Files\AomeiBackupper\log".
4. Copy the log folder to other location, such as D: drive or an external drive.
5. After that, log off the Winpe, and then please send the copied log files to our support team.
Method 2
1. Boot from AOMEI Backupper bootable media.
2. Click Tools-->Windows shell command.
3. Run the commands as follows:
For example: copy the log to D: drive
4. The log files are in D: drive. After that, please send the copied log files to our support team.
