How to add gmail mailbox for email backup in AOMEI Backupper
When you use AOMEI Backupper to back up gmails, you need to add Gmail mailboxes to AOMEI Backupper first. Please follow the steps below to add Gmail to AOMEI Backupper.
1. In the left tab page, select “Backup” followed by “Email Backup”.
2. Click “Add Email Data”.
and then click “Add Mailbox” to add one or multiple gmail mailboxes that you’d like to back up.
3. Type into the related parameters of Gmail.
Email Account: Please continue to type into the Gmail address.
Password: Please type the App Password of your Google account in here.
To enable the app password, please follow the steps below:
1. Log in to your Google account first, and then click "Manage your Google Account".
2. Click "Security"-->"Recent security activity".
3. Then, you can select the app and device you want to generate the app password.
Tips: Please first enable "Two-factor verification" if you still do not enable it.
4. Once it is generated, you can check the generated app password.
IMAP Server: IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol, a type of Internet protocol. It is used to access emails stored on the server. Its main function is that mail clients can get mail messages from mail servers and download them through IMAP protocol. The imap server for this option will automatically match the user's mailbox format.
Port: The mailbox port for this option is also automatically matched to the user's mailbox format.
Tips: If you need to use Proxy, you can enable “Proxy Settings” to set Proxy based on your needs.
4. Click “OK” then your gamil mailbox has been added successfully.
